Ooty “Queen of hill station” is based in Tamilnadu state capital of Nilgiri district. A popular tourist destination in India. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. Ooty is deep within the Nilgiri hills, also known as The Blue Mountains.
Ooty is well connected via roads. It is 18 km from Coonoor, (via Gudalur), 89km from Coimbatore, 535 km from Chennai (via Salem), 155 km from Mysore, 281 km from Kochi (via Coimbatore & Palakkad), 236 km from Kodaikanal (via Coimbatore & Palani)
There is a regular bus service from Coimbatore, Bangalore, Calicut, Thanjavur, Mysore, Tirupathi and Cochin. Buses ply regularly to Mudhumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Kotagiri, Coonoor and Doddabeta.
One more option available to reach out Ooty without any spend and that is 11 no. service. To avail this particular service you have to pull your socks up and start running to Ooty by yourself.
